Dr. Stephen E. Post, a fellow of the American Academy of Ophthalmology and the American Board of Ophthalmology, has based his practice in Alameda, California since 1985. A proud graduate of Duke Medical School, Dr. Post completed his ophthalmology residency at Stanford University and Georgetown University. Though he specializes in cataracts, glaucoma and retinal related problems, Dr. Post also sees patients for medical related eye complications as well as routine eye exams. For patients with surgical needs, Dr. Post has privileges at Alameda Hospital, EyeMD Laser and Surgery Center located in Oakland and Alta Bates Medical Center located in Berkeley.
Dr. Eugene Lowry is a board-certified ophthalmologist since 2019. He obtained his Medical Doctorate Degree with distinction from UC San Francisco and stayed at UCSF to complete his residency training in ophthalmology. After residency, he completed an additional subspecialty, fellowship training in glaucoma at the Devers Eye Institute of Legacy Health and Casey Eye Institute of Oregon Health and Science University in Portland. He graduated with Honors from Stanford University with a major in human biology and minor in chemistry. He has over a dozen first-author publications in the peer-reviewed academic literature. He is a member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology as well as the American Glaucoma Society.
Dr. Samuel Reiter, M.D. is a board-certified comprehensive
ophthalmologist devoted to providing exceptional eye care to
every patient he meets. Born and raised in the Bay Area, Dr.
Reiter majored in history at the University of California, Los
Angeles, attended medical school at the University of
California, Davis, then completed ophthalmology residency
at California Pacific Medical Center (CPMC) in San
Francisco. Throughout his training, Dr. Reiter pursued global
health opportunities in the developing world, including
Nicaragua, Sri Lanka, Bhutan, and India, where his work
amidst high rates of preventable blindness inspired him to
become an ophthalmologist.
Dr. Reiter is an experienced cataract surgeon and is grateful
to be able to improve patients’ quality of life with this
amazing procedure. He strives to make sure that his patients
understand their eye conditions, including cataract,
glaucoma, diabetic eye disease, and macular degeneration.
As the chief of International Ophthalmology at CPMC, Dr.
Reiter facilitates resident training opportunities at Aravind
Eye Hospital in southern India and teaches advanced
cataract surgical skills to residents in Alameda Health
System.
Outside of work, Dr. Reiter loves to run, hike, bike, and play
just about any sport. He also likes cooking, gardening,
reading, traveling, and most of all being with his family.
